It was goals galore as the grassroots scene enjoyed their share of the spotlight on Non-League Day, writes Jack Smith.
One of the yearly event's main headline makers, Division One Bungay Town, had promised entertainment during their home fixture against Hempnall. That's what they delivered by romping to a 13-0 win with Paul Bliss (4), Tom Franklyn (3), Fionn Goodwin-Wright (2), Daniel Wilby (2), Kevin Riches and Sam Olley all netting in the demolition job which moved them up to third.
Acle United had the chance of regaining top position in the Premier Division, but they went down 3-0 at home to Dersingham Rovers, who had Alex Clunan and Sam Peck (2) on target. Kirkley & Pakefield Reserves now sit top of the pile after winning 2-0 at Reepham Town. Kaiden Goldspink and Matt Willis did the business in front of goal for them, as did Jack Hurrell who helped Cromer Town edge Harleston Town 1-0.
There were goals galore in the Mummery Cup as a rampant Blofield United scored 10 (Rob Fryers 3, Ben Morgan 2, Jon Wynne, James Bassey-Fisher, Ashley Mitchell, Ryan Flint and an OG) smashed Wymondham Town. They claimed a late consolation through Danny Blake. Mulbarton Wanderers fired in a 7-1 victory over North Walsham Town. Mark Appleton (3), Simon Freemantle (2), Kaine Challen and Ashley Tuckfield scored for Mulbarton with Liam Jackson scoring for Walsham.
Spixworth ran out 2-1 winners against Mattishall with Shaun Wones and Danny Brown scoring for the home side and Damion Didwell for the visitors. St Andrews ran out 4-1 victors against Norwich CEYMS. The winners' scorers were John Muir, James Taylor (2) and James Freshwater, Daniel Mace scoring for CEYMS.
Wroxham Reserves ran out 3-0 winners against Aylsham with Jordon Attree (penalty), Ben Anderson and Bradley Spooner on target. Foulsham (Ben Darby) lost 2-1 at home to Scole United (William Goulding and Arun Lucraft). Scoring all three goals, Caister beat Long Stratton 2-1 with Mike Fennell and Keegan Taylor finding the right net.
Bradenham Wanderers beat Hellesdon to triumph in other Division One action. Ross Pantry and Connor Charlesworth scored for Hellesdon while Jake Watson and Nick Hook (2) were the Bradenham scorers.
Poringland (Connor Simpson 2, Angus Mackie and Matt Elwin) and Holt (Chris English, Lee Clark 2, Jacob Doyle) shared eight goals and Stalham and Hindringham also drew. Their 2-2 result came courtesy of strikes from Charlie Skipper, Antoni Fawkes (both Stalham), Liam Forge and Kevin Clipston.
Waveney went top with a 4-1 victory over Loddon. Bradley Hough, Andrew Hammersley, Luke Salmon and Sam Shepherd scored for the table-toppers with Daniel Crisp replying.
