King's Lynn Town will try to pick themselves up from their FA Cup heartbreak at Barton Rovers this evening.
The Linnets blew a place in the final qualifying round – where they found out yesterday they would have welcomed AFC Rushden & Diamonds, who a host of the club's former stars play for – by losing 1-0 at Barwell on Saturday.
Keeper Alex Street's error was the difference on the day and now a devastated Gary Setchell is looking for Town to deliver a response in their Southern League Red Insure Cup first round tie against lower-tier opponents.
'It's going to be a job to pick these boys up now,' said the Town boss, speaking to Lynn's official YouTube channel.
'I'm glad we've not got a league game and we've got a cup game. We're bitterly disappointed but we've got to go again. This is all part of non-league football and it's no good crying over spilt milk.'
Setchell has injury concerns over Sam Gaughran, Jordan Yong, Conor Marshall and Sam Mulready while striker Toby Hilliard sits out the first of his three-game ban after Lynn failed to overturn the red card he received during a league defeat at Bedworth.
In Thurlow Nunn League Challenge Cup first-round action, Kirkley & Pakefield host Gorleston, Norwich United welcome Team Bury Reserves, Swaffham Town entertain Lynn's second-string, Diss Town host Stowmarket Town and Thetford Town are at home to Downham Town.
In the United Counties League Premier Division Wisbech Town welcome Sleaford Town.
