Two 120-tonne convoys from a nuclear site are set to cause delays as they travel across Norfolk this month.

The first of the loads is set to leave Sizewell B in Suffolk tomorrow at 9.30am and will affect the A47 and A11 as it travels across Norfolk towards its Warwickshire destination.

The first convoy, which is 121 tonnes, five metres wide and 24m long, will enter Norfolk on the A146 near Gillingham.

It will then travel towards Norwich where it will join the A47 before heading west along the A11 towards Thetford and the Cambridgeshire border.

A police escort will be in place from the A11 at Thickthorn.

The second convoy will leave the nuclear site on December 11 at 9.30am.

The 119-tonne load, also five metres wide and 24m long, will travel to Warwickshire along the same roads as the first.
