A man who turned down crisis care took his own life just weeks after being arrested and bailed by police, an inquest has heard.
Robert Padmore was found in a wooded area near Thetford in July last year having taken an action to end his life. He was 51.
An inquest into his death held at County Hall in Norwich heard that Mr Padmore had a long history of mental ill health, which saw him suffer "episodes" of low mood.
In the months leading up to his death he had spent periods of time living in his car and staying with friends.
On June 8, six weeks before he died, he was arrested and questioned by the police before being released on bail the following day - although the court did not hear the nature of the allegations and they remained unproven.
On July 27, he had been due to attend Bury St Edmunds police station to answer his bail, but did not show up.
The same day, a friend reported Mr Padmore missing and was found the next day in a wooded area off Croxton Road, near Thetford.
Meanwhile, the court heard that two months before his death, his GP had referred him to the crisis team at the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.
In a statement read to the court, NSFT social worker Amy Beck said that initially Mr Padmore had been prepared to undergo an assessment of his mental health.
However, on consecutive days in May, he cancelled these appointments, before later telling the trust he did not wish for support.
Evidence was also heard that prior to his death he had stopped taking antidepressant medication.
Area coroner Samantha Goward concluded Mr Padmore had taken his own life in a deliberate act, but that his intensions were unknown.
