The county is bracing for a week of wet weather as a storm is set to batter Norfolk with rain.

With the last day of astronomical summer here on Sunday, the autumn weather has well and truly arrived.

A storm looming from the Atlantic Ocean is due to hit the county on Sunday bringing with it some damp and dreary conditions.

People should get their umbrellas at the ready with BBC Weather forecasting light rain to begin at 8am the same day.

Thick cloud and patchy showers will continue into Monday and Tuesday with temperatures peaking at 19C.

The mercury is set to continue to drop throughout the week with highs of just 16C on Wednesday, 15C on Thursday and 14C on Friday.

Although glimmers of sunshine are forecast to peak through on Wednesday and Friday, scattered showers will remain throughout the week.

This comes as bad news for the county's low-lying ground as the Environment Agency has issued a series of flood alerts in recent days which may continue into next week as river systems are tested.
