Suffolk roads closed in Brandon and Lakenheath for repairs

Suffolk Highways posted on X (formerly Twitter) that they would be closing five roads for repairs on Wednesday, February 7.

Diversions will be in place for each of the routes.

Thetford Road, Brandon and Santon Downham

Over 4.5km of Thetford Road will be closed in two separate phases as road repairs are carried out in Brandon and Santon Downham from 7pm on Wednesday, February 7 and 5am on Thursday, February 8.

The diversion will take drivers along the B1107, A11, B1106 and vice versa, but the B1107 is access only.

Main Road, Woolverstone

The Main Road through Woolverstone will be closed from B1080 for 760 metres east to Harkstead Lane on Wednesday, February 7 between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

This is so Suffolk Highways teams can carry out pothole repairs.

The diversion route will take drivers along the B1456, Shotley Road, Queens Road, The Street, Shop Corner, Knights Farm Lane, C411 from 4113 to C410, The Street, Harkstead Road, Fir Tree Hill, Fishponds Lane, B1080, and the same in the other direction.

Hunston Road, Badwell Ash

Hunston Road in Badwell Ash from Westley Way to St Marys Crescent between 9.30am and 3.30pm for vegetation clearance.

The diversion goes along Hunston Road, The Street, Richer Road, Ashfield Hill, Westley Way, and the same in the other direction.

Drouts Lane and Hopton Road, Barningham

Both roads in Barningham will be closing between 9.30am and 3.30pm for road and gully repairs. 

The diversion on Drouts Lane directs road users along Bardwell Road, Mill Road, B1111, and the same in the opposite direction.

The diversion in place for Hopton Road will take drivers from A1066, B1113, A143 and vice versa.

Back Street, Lakenheath

Back Street in Lakenheath will be closing from Wings Road for 420 metres south to Mill Road for road repairs between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

The diversion in place goes from Wings Road, B1112, Mill Road, and the same in the opposite direction.
