Norfolk schools closed due to strike on Thursday April 27

National Education Union (NEU) members will walk out of schools and sixth-form colleges across England.

The "majority of schools" are expected to either restrict access to pupils or fully close as a result of the strikes, the NEU has said.

Many secondary schools in England are expected to prioritise Year 11 and Year 13 students during the strikes as GCSE and A-level exams are weeks away.

The NEU has issued guidance which says it will support arrangements during the strikes that “provide the minimum level of teaching staff needed” so GCSE and A-level students can attend school for revision activities or exam practice.

A Department for Education spokesperson said: “Any strike action is hugely damaging. We have made a fair and reasonable pay offer to teachers recognising their hard work and commitment.

“Thanks to the further £2 billion we are investing in our schools, next year, school funding will be at its highest level in history.”

Here is a full list of today's closures in Norfolk:

A

• Acle Academy (NR13 3ER) - Acle Academy will be limiting attendance to Years 11 and      10 on Thursday 27th April due to Industrial Action. KS3 students will be set remote learning.
• Alderman Peel High School (NR23 1RB) - Year 7 and 11 in school only. Year 8, 9, and        10 receiving remote learning.
• Attleborough Academy (NR17 2AJ) - Attleborough Academy is partially closed today due to the strike action. We are open to Year 11 and Year 13 students only and              'vulnerable' students by prior arrangement.
• Attleborough Primary School (NR17 2NA) - fully closed due to teacher strike action.

B

• Barnham Broom CE VA Primary School (NR9 4BU) - School is closed to all pupils due to the impact of industrial action. Learning activities will be shared with parents/carers.
• Bluebell Primary School (NR4 7DS) - School will be closed to all but Nursery, Year 2,        Year 6 and specifically identified pupils, following a risk assessment of the number of staff we have in school, due to the strike action.
• Broadland High Ormiston Academy (NR12 8QN) - Students in Year 11 should attend as normal. Due to industrial action, remote learning will be set for students in Year 7, 8, 9, and 10 who should remain at home.
• Browick Road Primary And Nursery School (NR18 0QW) - Fully closed due to                  Industrial    Action.
• Brundall Primary School (NR13 5JX) - School closed due to NEU industrial action.
• Bure Valley School (NR11 6JZ) - School is only partially open for vulnerable pupils due to the number of teaching staff participating in the National Education Union industrial action.

• Catfield CE VC Primary School (NR29 5DA) - Due to strike action the school will be partially closed as our risk assessments have identified that it would not be safe to open to all pupils. The school will be open to vulnerable pupils, pre-school pupils and pupils in Y5/6.
• Catton Grove Primary School (NR3 3TP) - Due to the high number of teachers affiliated with the NEU, the school will only be partially open FOR invited vulnerable children and Caterpillars (2-year-olds). Please see the Class Dojo letter, for further information about lunch arrangements.
• Cecil Gowing Infant School (NR7 8NZ) - Cecil Gowing Infant School will be closed to all pupils due to strike action.
• Chapel Green School (NR17 1RF) - Closed for most pupils - still open for specific pupils (letter has gone home to those pupils) - lack of staffing has made it unsafe to open the school to all pupils.
• Colkirk Church of England Primary Academy (NR21 7NW) - Due to the strike action we are unfortunately having to close to Years R - 5. Year 6 needs to be in for the day and we have provision for vulnerable children or children of critical workers. Further information has been shared via Class Dojo.
• Colman Infant School (NR4 7AW) - Colman Federation closed due to industrial strike        action
• Colman Junior School (NR4 7AU) - Colman Junior closed due to industrial strike action
• Cringleford CE VA Primary School (NR4 7JR) - Only open to Year 6 and children who        have been invited to come in (Free School Meals and some SEND)

D

• Dereham Neatherd High School (NR20 3AX) - Partial closure due to national strike action. We remain open for all Year 11 pupils, who should come to school as usual.          However, school is closed to pupils in Years 7 to 10, with the exception of pupils in vulnerable groups who have received an invite to attend. Pupils working from home have been set remote learning tasks online. These can be found on Microsoft Teams and on the school website.
• Dersingham VA Primary & Nursery School (PE31 6LR) - Dersingham school will be partially closed today. The school will be open for Nursery, Reception and Year 1.
• Docking Church of England Primary Academy and Nursery (PE31 8LH) - Partial closure due to strike action.
• Downham Market Academy (PE38 9LL) - Closed to all students in Year 7-10 due to industrial strike action. Years 11, 12 and 13 should all attend as normal
• Drayton Community Infant School (NR8 6EP) - All classes closed today due to teacher industrial strike action. The school will reopen on Friday 28th April.
• Dussindale Primary School (NR7 0US) - Partial closure due to NEU strike. Year 5              should not attend. All other year groups attend as normal.

• Fakenham Junior School (NR21 8BN) - Y3, Y4 and Y5 are closed due to the impacts of industrial action. Y6 is open as normal.
• Falcon Junior School (NR7 8NT) - School is fully closed due to industrial action by            NEU members.

H

• Hainford VC Primary School (NR10 3BQ) - school open only to pupils identified as            vulnerable
• Harford Manor School (NR2 2LN) - Due to industrial action school will be unable to open classes with the exception of White, Orange and Purple Class.
• Harleston Sancroft Academy (IP20 9DD) - As a result of Industrial Strike Action, the school will be open to the following Year groups only: Dove Hub Provision, Y2, Y4, Y6,      Y10 and Y11. We ask that children in all other year groups work at home on these days.
• Hemblington Primary School (NR13 4QJ) - Partial closure due to NEU strike. Years R,        1, 2 and 4 should not attend. Years 3, 5 and 6 attend as normal.
• Henderson Green Primary Academy (NR5 8DX) - Due to National Strike Action school is open to Rocket, Yr 6 and invited vulnerable children only. Reception - Yr 5 classes are all closed.
• Hethersett Woodside Primary & Nursery School (NR9 3JL) - Closed apart from                Nursery, Year 6, vulnerable children and children of critical workers. Remote learning from school website.

• Horsford C Of E VA Primary School (NR10 3ES) - School partially closed due to strike action. School open for 3P, 4P and 6B. Vulnerable children have been invited in through discussion with parents.

• Iceni Academy - Methwold Site (Secondary) (IP26 4PE) - The academy is partially closed on Thursday 27th April. The academy remains fully open to students in Year          11 and to vulnerable and key worker students by prior arrangement for students in all other year groups.

• King Edward VII Academy (PE30 2QB) - Due to strike action King Edward VII will be partially closed on Thursday 27th April. We remain open for Year 10, 11, 12 and 13          students. We will be providing onsite provision for vulnerable pupils and key workers.        Year 7, 8 and 9 will receive work online for that day. FSM will be made available for collection afterschool the day before.
• Kinsale Infant School (NR6 5SG) - Due to strike action school is partially closed to all      Year 1 and 2. All Reception children attend as normal please.
