Which Norfolk schools are closed today for teacher strikes?

Members of the National Education Union have taken industrial action in a row over pay. 

Members of the union are not obliged to tell their employers if they will be participating until the day of the strikes.

It is the second day of strike action after more than 130 schools were partially or fully closed on Wednesday. 

Here is a full list of closures on Thursday:

A

• Acle Academy (NR13 3ER) - Acle Academy will be limiting attendance to Years 11, 7 and 9 on Wednesday 15th March and to Years 11, 10 and 8 on Thursday 16th March. Remote learning will be provided for students affected.
• Alderman Peel High School (NR23 1RB) - Year 11 in school only. Year 7-10 remote learning.
• Angel Road Infant School And Nursery (NR3 3HR) - Partial Closure (Open for invited groups: parents have been contacted). School office open for enquires.
• Ashleigh Primary And Nursery School (NR18 0HL) - Ashleigh Primary School and Nursery is closed to all pupils on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March due to NEU strike action taking place on these dates.
• Attleborough Academy (NR17 2AJ) - The Academy is closed to students in Year 7, Year 8, Year 9, Year 10 and Year 12 due to the strike action
• Attleborough Primary School (NR17 2NA) - closure due to strike
• Avenue Junior School (NR2 3HP) - Due to the impact of industrial action by the NEU, the school is only open (by prior arrangement) to children identified as potentially vulnerable, using the government's criteria. For online learning links, please see other school communications.

• Barford Primary School (NR9 4AB) - School is closed to all children, due to unsafe staffing levels. Red Squirrels' Residential Trip will still go ahead. Please contact the school office for more information.
• Barnham Broom CE VA Primary School (NR9 4BU) - Fully closed due to strike action and insufficient staff to be able to open safely. A Menu of activities will be sent home.
• Bignold Primary School & Nursery (NR2 2SY) - School partially closed due to teacher strike action.
• Bluebell Primary School (NR4 7DS) - Due to strike action, closed to all about from pupils identified as being vulnerable, Year 6 and Nursery.
• Bradwell Homefield CE VC Primary School (NR31 8NS) - School closed to all pupils. Insufficent staff in key roles to operate school safely, due to NEU industrial action
• Broadland High Ormiston Academy (NR12 8QN) - Closed to students in Year 7, 8, 9 and 10. Year 11 students should attend as normal.
• Browick Road Primary And Nursery School (NR18 0QW) - Due to Industrial Action Reception Class Closed ALL DAY
• Brundall Primary School (NR13 5JX) - School closed due to NEU strike action.
• Bure Valley School (NR11 6JZ) - School partially closed due to ongoing NEU industrial action. In school provision for pupils in Y5 and invited vulnerable learners.

C

• Catton Grove Primary School (NR3 3TP) - Catton Grove Primary School will only be partially opened on Wednesday 15th March and Thursday 16th March for our 2 Year Old provision (Caterpillars) and vulnerable children, due to the NEU Strike action. Packed lunches will be available from the Sports Hall 11-12 each day for those in receipt of FSMs and Universal Meals. Thank you.
• Cecil Gowing Infant School (NR7 8NZ) - Cecil Gowing Infant School is closed to all pupils due to strike action.
• Chapel Green School (NR17 1RF) - Due to strike action by teaching unions it is unsafe to open the school to all pupils. Priority list pupils are welcome into school and agreed pupils with parents who are critical workers.
• Churchill Park Academy (PE30 4RP) - The school will be partially closed on the 15th and 16th of March due to the teachers' strikes. 
• City Academy Norwich (NR4 7LP) - School closure for strike days. Open on Weds 15th March for Year 11 and a small number of identified students and Thurs 16th March for Year 8 and a small number of identified students. Full details on website.
• City of Norwich School (NR4 6PP) - Due to NEU strike action CNS is only open to students in Y10-13 wishing to do independent study and those who have been contacted. All other students are to study remotely using learning guidance on go4schools.
• Clover Hill VA Infant and Nursery School (NR5 9AP) - Strike action means we cannot open safely
• Colkirk Church of England Primary Academy (NR21 7NW) - Unfortunately due to the Strike Action we are closing two of our classes on Thursday. Messages have been sent out via Class Dojo.
• Colman Infant School (NR4 7AW) - Colman Federation closed due to industrial strike action.
• Colman Junior School (NR4 7AU) - Colman Federation closed due to industrial strike action.
• Coltishall Primary School (NR12 7HA) - Coltishall Primary School is closed due to industrial action. Parents/carers of vulnerable pupils have been contacted to offer places.
• Costessey Primary School (NR5 0RR) - Due to strike action on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th, the school will be partially closed as we have insufficient staff. Reception – Fully Open Year One – Fully Open Year Two - Six – Open to Pupils with SEND, Pupils with a Social Worker and those with parents of Key Workers (as defined during COVID).
• Cringleford CE VA Primary School (NR4 7JR) - Partial closure with some year groups and vulnerable children invited in.

• Dereham Church of England Junior Academy (NR19 1BJ) - Open for all classes EXCEPT: Parks - Y4 Tabei - Y6
• Dereham Neatherd High School (NR20 3AX) - The school is partially closed due to national strike action by members of the National Education Union. All Year 11 pupils are expected to attend as normal. Some children in other year groups have received invites to attend. All other pupils should remain at home and complete remote online learning (see Teams or the school website for details). Apologies for any inconvenience caused to pupils and their families.
• Dersingham VA Primary & Nursery School (PE31 6LR) - Partial closure due to strike action on 15/16 March. All parents and carers have been informed of the classes that are not open to pupils.
• Dickleburgh Church Of England Primary Academy (IP21 4NL) - School will be partially closed on Wednesday and Thursday due to the NEU industrial action.
• Diss CE Junior Academy (IP22 4NT) - Partial closure Year 3 and 6 not affected Year 4 Wednesday Year 5 Thursday Spaces available for vulnerable children and children of key workers
• Diss Infant Academy And Nursery (IP22 4PU) - Partially Closed Year 2 in as normal Reception Wednesday, Year 1 Thursday Spaces available for vulnerable children and children of key workers.
• Docking Church of England Primary Academy and Nursery (PE31 8LH) - Inca Jays class (Y1 and Y2) will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday as a result of strike action. All other classes will remain open.
• Downham Market Academy (PE38 9LL) - DMA is closed to students in year 7 to 10 due to the national strike action. Work for completion can be found on our website and has been emailed to all students/parents
• Drayton CE VC Junior School (NR8 6EF) - Fully closed to all pupils.
• Drayton Community Infant School (NR8 6EP) - Due to teacher industrial action: Wednesday 15th March - closed to all children Thursday 16th March - open to Mouse Class only. Closed to all other classes.
• Duke of Lancaster School (NR21 9DQ) - Duke of Lancaster will be partially open to students on 15th and 16th March 2023. The school will be open to students of parents who have communicated they require a place, and our Year 10 students.

E

• Eaton Primary School (NR4 6HU) - partially closed; open for invited groups
• Edith Cavell Academy and Nursery (NR1 2LR) - Partial closure. Open for pupils in Nursery, Reception, Year 2, Year 6, Rainbow Class, the SRB. We have contacted parents of vulnerable pupils in other year groups who can attend. Remote learning is set for pupils working at home.

F

• Fakenham Academy (NR21 9QT) - School is partially closed to all year groups on Wednesday (15th) and Thursday (16th) due to the national teacher strike. Parents have been given the opportunity to apply for a limited number of places.
• Fakenham Infant & Nursery School (NR21 8HN) - Due to impacts of the NEU industrial action the reception classes will be closed on 15th and 16th March. Nursery, Y1 and Y2 open as normal.
• Fakenham Junior School (NR21 8BN) - Due to impacts of NEU industrial action the school will close to all year groups on 15th and 16th March.
• Falcon Junior School (NR7 8NT) - Partial closure due to NEU industrial action - the school is open for Year 3 Puffins and Pelicans, Year 4 Firecrests and Kingfishers, Year 5 Bitterns and Herons, and Year 6 Doves and Eagles only.
• Foulsham Primary School (NR20 5RT) - Partially closed - open to vulnerable pupils and key workers.
• Framingham Earl High School (NR14 7QP) - Partial closure. Y11 compulsory attendance and provision open for vulnerable and key worker children (those who have signed up).
• Fred Nicholson School (NR19 1JB) - The school is closed due to industial action. Parents/carers have been informed of arrangements. Our office remains open should you have a safeguarding concern.
• Frettenham Primary School (NR12 7LL) - Class 1 and 2 are closed. Class 3 is open and also provision for vulnerable children, who have been contacted. The office is open as usual and can be contacted on 01603737405.

• Garrick Green Infant School (NR6 7AL) - partially closed due to industrial action. Details in email sent out to parents 10.3.23
• George White Junior School (NR3 4RG) - School partially closed due to teacher strike action.
• Great Dunham Primary School (PE32 2LQ) - Ranworth and Hickling classes are closed~ Y3, 4, 5 & 6. Oulton class are in school as normal.

H

• Hainford VC Primary School (NR10 3BQ) - School is open only to vulnerable children.
• Hall School (NR6 7AD) - Partial closure due to Teacher strike. 1 class Wednesday 3 classes Thursday Parents have been informed if their child's class is closed.
• Harford Manor School (NR2 2LN) - All classes except White Class will be closed to pupils due to the teachers strike causing insufficient staff being able to attend to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Harleston Sancroft Academy (IP20 9DD) - As a result of National Strike Action, the school will remain open for the following year groups only: - Year 4 - Year 6 - Year 11 We ask that children in all other year groups work at home on these days.
• Heartsease Primary Academy (NR7 9UE) - partial school closure due to strike days
• Hellesdon High School (NR6 5SB) - Partial opening due to Strike Action Open to Year 11, 12 and 13 students only.
• Hemblington Primary School (NR13 4QJ) - Due to NEU strike, Hemblington Primary School is closed to Years R, 1 and 4 on Thursday 16th March 2023.
• Henderson Green Primary Academy (NR5 8DX) - Partial school closure due to NEU strike action. Open to Yr 6, Rocket and invited vulnerable children only. Yr Reception, 1, 2, 3, 4 and Yr 5 classes closed. All Children invited in for lunchtime.
• Hethersett Woodside Primary & Nursery School (NR9 3JL) - Open for Nursery and Year 6 only. Other year groups are closed apart from vulnerable children and children of critical workers.
• Hillside Avenue Primary & Nursery School (NR7 0QW) - Due to NEU Strike Action, school and Nursery is closed to all except Year 6 pupils.
• Hingham Primary School (NR9 4JB) - Full closure due to industrial action
• Hobart High School (NR14 6JU) - The school is closed to all year groups (7-11), but is open to vulnerable / key worker children. This is due to the impact of the strikes on staffing. Please see the letter for details of remote learning.
• Holt Community Primary School (NR25 6SG) - The school will only be open to Year R, Year 3, Year 6 and children of critical workers on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March.
• Horsford C Of E VA Primary School (NR10 3ES) - The school is partially closed due to strike action. The following classes are closed: 3A, 4G and 5S. Vulnerable children from these classes can still attend school - parents of these children have been contacted by school directly.

I

• Iceni Academy - Methwold Site (Secondary) (IP26 4PE) - The academy is partially closed on 15th and 16th March. The academy remains fully open to students in Year 11 and to vulnerable and key worker students by prior arrangement for students in all other year groups.

• Jane Austen College (NR3 1DD) - Partially closed. Open to Y11, 12, 13, critical and vulnerable students on both days. Also open to Y10 on 15/03 and Y8 on 16/03

K

• King Edward VII Academy (PE30 2QB) - Due to strike action, King Edward VII Academy will be partially closed. It will be open for year 10, 11, 6th Form, Vulnerable students and Key Worker children. Year's 7, 8 and 9 will receive their learning remotely at home.
• Kinsale Junior School (NR6 5SG) - Partial closure due to industrial action. Children in Year 4 and Year 5 are able to attend.

L

• Lakenham Primary School (NR1 2HL) - Due to Strike Action. Open for lunch and play for those who have pre-ordered
• Lionwood Infant & Nursery School (NR1 4AN) - School closed to Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils due to strike action. Nursery will remain open on these days.
• Lionwood Junior School (NR1 4HT) - Closed due to National Strike Action
• Litcham School (PE32 2NS) - Primary phase will be open (if this changes we will text parents of those affected). Secondary phase will be closed to all apart from the students we have been in contact with parents directly about.

L

• Lodge Lane Infant School (NR6 7HL) - partially closed due to industrial action. Details in email sent out to parents 9.3.23
• Lynn Grove Academy (NR31 8AP) - School will remain open for Year 7, Year 11 and vulnerable pupils. Remote, online learning for all other pupils.

• Magdalen Gates Primary School (NR3 1NG) - As detailed in the letter to parents, the school will be partially closed on both days. Weds 15th - Open for Nursery, Reception and Key Stage 2. Invited children only in Key Stage 1. Thurs 16th - Open for Nursery and Year 4 only. Closed for all other year groups. Invited children only in all other year groups.
• Mile Cross Community Primary School (NR3 2QU) - School closed to all children on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March 2023 due to teachers strike action.
• Moorlands Church Of England Primary Academy (NR31 9PA) - Due to industrial action by the NEU, the school will only be open to vulnerable children and those children of critical workers. If you have any concerns about this please contact the main school office.

• Northgate High School (NR19 2EU) - Northgate High School and Dereham Sixth Form College will be OPEN for all year groups with the exception of Year 7 and 8.
• Norwich Road Academy (IP24 2HT) - Partial school closure due to NEU industrial action. Grasshoppers and Kestrels class CLOSED. all other classes open and operational as usual. Children in classes that are not closed are expected to attend.
• Notre Dame High School, Norwich (NR1 3PB) - Notre Dame will be partially closed due to strike action. The school is open for Y7, Y11, Y12 and Y13. Y8, Y9 and Y10 need to complete the independent home learning that has been sent home.

• Old Buckenham High School (NR17 1RL) - Due to the NEU national strike, the school will be partially closed on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March. Only year 11 students and students with an email invitation should attend.
• Old Buckenham Primary School And Nursery (NR17 1RH) - School partially closed. Provision for Nursery, vulnerable pupils and SEND pupils as well as Year 6 in place. Parents can still contact via telephone and email: office@obps.set.education. Details on website.
• Old Catton CE Junior School (NR6 7DS) - The school is partially open to selected classes and pupils only.
• Open Academy (NR7 9DL) - Due to strike action the Academy is closed to Y7, Y8, Y9 and SRB students.
• Ormesby Village Junior School (NR29 3LA) - Partial school closure for safety reasons for Year 3 and Year 6 classes due to members of teaching staff taking industrial action.
• Ormiston Venture Academy (NR31 7JJ) - Due to the national strike action we are unable to staff the academy for all students. We have made the unfortunate decision to move to a partial closure. The academy will only be open to Year 11. Online learning will be provided for students in year 7, 8, 9 and 10 to work on from home.

• Salhouse C Of E Primary School (NR13 6RJ) - The school will be partially closed. Years R, 1, 2 ,3 and 6 should attend. The school will be closed to years 4 and 5.
• Saxlingham Nethergate CE VC Primary School (NR15 1TD) - Partial closure due to NEU Strike. School is only open to Hedgehogs and Owls.
• Sewell Park Academy (NR3 4BX) - Due to the national strike action - Sewell Park Academy is closed to some year groups. Vulnerable students and Year 11 students should attend
• Sheringham Community Primary School & Nursery (NR26 8UH) - Due to industrial action, the school is only open fully to children in Nursery and Year 1. In all other year groups the school is only open for those pupils deemed to be vulnerable.
• Short Stay School For Norfolk (NR10 5JW) - The school is partially closed due to strike action. Parents/carers have been informed of arrangements
• Sidestrand Hall School (NR27 0NH) - Due to the NEU teachers strike, we will be closed to all except vulnerable pupils, boarders and those whose parents have requested a place.
• Smithdon High School (PE36 5HY) - Partial Closure - open to Year 11 and vulnerable students only. Year 7-10 should access lessons online via Google Classroom.

• University Technical College Norfolk (NR4 6FF) - UTCN is open for specific Year Groups who have all been informed. Wednesday 15th open to all of Year 10 & 12 plus Year 13 intervention students. Thursday 16th Open to all of Year 11 and ONLY Year 12 T Level students.

• Valley Primary Academy (NR5 8XZ) - Due to strike days, Valley will be open to YR,Y1,Y5,Y6 and Starship class. We look forward to seeing Y2,Y3 & Y4 on Friday.

• Watton Junior School (IP25 6AL) - School closed to year 6 pupils only due to staff shortages (NEU strikes). School remains open for years 3,4 and 5.
• Wayland Academy (IP25 6BA) - Closed all day for Year 8 & 9 students only. Remote Learning work shared via Parentmail.
• Wells-Next-The-Sea Primary & Nursery School (NR23 1JG) - Partial closure : Nursery, Year 2 & 6 attending as normal
• West Earlham Infant & Nursery School (NR5 8HT) - Main school (yr, y1, y2) will be closed on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th March. Nursery remains open.
• West Earlham Junior School (NR5 8HT) - Due to industrial action there will be a partial closure of the school, with classes 4GM, 4SC, 5VK and 6CD closed on Thursday.
