HARDY Frances Bernadette It is with great sadness that the family of Frances Bernadette Hardy announces her death on 21st June 2024 at the age of 77. Frances died peacefully at her home in Norwich after a short stay in hospital and will be remembered with love by her brothers Pip and Mike and sister Pat and their families and also by the families of her departed brother and sister, Denis and Beryl. After attending St John's Primary School on Dereham Road, Frances went on to Notre Dame High School. It was her experience, aged 10, as a patient at The Jenny Lind Hospital that set her on the pathway to become a nurse. She began her general training in 1966 at Guys Hospital, London then went on to work at Westminster Hospital where she completed the first part of her diploma. She moved back to Norwich in 1971 to work at The Jenny Lind Hospital as a staff nurse. She became a Ward Sister in 1973 and was awarded her Diploma in Paediatric Nursing in 1974. She remained in the role of Ward Sister until her retirement in March 1997 and her remarkable dedication and devotion were recognised in the naming of the Frances Ward at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. During her retirement, she enjoyed swimming, scrapbooking, music and choral singing. She maintained close ties with her former colleagues. She will be remembered for her dedication to those in her care and her warmth and kindness to all those who knew her. Her lifelong infectious humour and laughter were with her even in her final few days. The funeral service will be held at midday on Thursday 25th July 2024 at St George's RC Church on Sprowston Road, Norwich NR3 4HZ. There will be a reception afterwards which all are welcome to attend. Frances requested that people wear bright colours no black! Family flowers only please. Charitable donations instead can be made to CAFOD or The Jenny Lind Hospital via AllcockFunerals.co.uk. May she rest in peace and rise in glory with her SaviourTributes
